FAQs

What are the check-in and check-out times?

You can check in from 3pm on the day of arrival and check-out time is at 11am on the morning of your departure.  We are clearly looking forward to your visit – should you wish to arrive earlier or check out later, please let us know and we will do our utmost to accommodate.

Good Morning! What time is breakfast?

To start your day in the best way, our hearty breakfast is served between 7am and 10am daily in our restaurant.  Should you prefer to take breakfast in the comfort of your room, simply complete the breakfast order card and pop it on your door handle or into reception before 10pm the night before.  If you have a really early start, no problem – we can arrange our ‘Grab and Go’ continental breakfast for you, again just let us know at reception the night before.

 

 

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.  It is worth noting that we are in the middle of the beautiful New Forest so it might not be as fast but it will keep you connected.

Can I book a specific room?

We cannot guarantee specific rooms within a room type. However, we will absolutely try our best to accommodate you if you do have a preference / favourite.

Are little guests welcome?

Family-owned, we are always so pleased to welcome little guests. With a fantastic children’s menu and a parent-friendly setting in our restaurant, beautiful landscaped gardens for lawn games and local to some of the best attractions in the UK, our friendly countryside hotel is the perfect and adventurous fun place for a New Forest family break.

Our Deluxe and Grand-Deluxe rooms are perfect if you are travelling with little ones, with either a fold-away sofa bunk or space for additional pop-up beds.  Cots can be provided but we recommend bringing your own if you can.

 

Can my dog come along?

Absolutely! Furry friends are welcome across your collection.

For £15 they will receive their own dog mat and welcome bag of delicious healthy treats, with special bowls to eat and drink from. There are even ‘wash pipes’ for muddy paws fresh back from walkies.

While you dine we respectively ask you to leave your dog in your room, as dogs are not allowed in our restaurants or leisure areas. We do of course allow assistance dogs in the dining room – and they can join you in the bar for a nightcap too.

We allow a maximum of two dogs per room and these must be over one-year-old. Depending on the room type reserved, we may later the number of dogs allowed and dogs are not permitted on beds or furniture.

What is the nearest train station?

Let the train take the strain.  We are very near to two train stations –  Totton (5 miles) and Ashurst New Forest (5.5 miles).

Is there on-site parking?

Yes there is.  There is complimentary on-site car parking for all guests, with additional parking at the rear of the hotel.  We also have BP Charge master, Pulse network charging points for electric cars and designated disabled parking spaces.

Is there a hairdryer in the room?

Don’t worry there are no bad hair days here!  All of our rooms have hairdryers.

 

Are you accessible?

Yes – We have an accessible room, located on the ground-floor with extra wide doors for wheelchair users and a wet-room style bathroom with low-level basins and support rails.

The house is located over three floors, please note that Bartley Lodge is Grade-II listed and there are parts of the hotel that may not be easily-accessible.

Upon request and if available, we can allocate rooms on the first floor should this be required.  We are here to help so please let us know how.

Can I book just one night?

When booking a Saturday night, there is a minimum two night stay.  Otherwise there are no minimum nights needed for bookings.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

If Covid restrictions prevent travel we are operating a flexible full cancellation policy.

In normal times (nearly there) for our best available rates, you can cancel your reservation up to 48-hours prior to your arrival date without charge. A notification of cancellation after this time, will result in payment being taken for the first night of your stay.  Our pre-paid preferential rates that require advance payment are non-refundable – these bookings cannot be cancelled or amended.

Are you able to cater for allergens or special dietary requests?

Of course! We cater to all dietary needs. Please email bartley@newforesthotels.co.uk if you have any special requests before arrival. You’ll find all our menus online including our plant based and gluten free dishes, suitable for vegetarians and vegans.  Happy dining.

What time is the restaurant open?

The restaurant is open from 5.30pm to 9pm for dinner every day and 12pm to 3pm on Sundays for lunch. We recommend that you reserve a table in the restaurant before arrival as we are unable to guarantee a table during busy times if a reservation has not been made.

Light bites and small plates are available between 12pm and 9pm in both the sitting room and bar lounge. Afternoon tea is served daily from 2.30pm to 5pm.

Can we use your indoor pool?

Our indoor pool is now open for use, however we encourage you to maintain social distancing when using the facilities.

Changing rooms are available in the pool area, however do we encourage guests to change in your room before using the pool as capacity is limited.

All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times
