To be found at the very end of a woodland drive, Bartley Lodge, our Grade-II listed eighteenth century country house is settled in eight tranquil acres of landscaped grounds and is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect. As the historic home of Charles Lyell, its rooms have been individually designed with earthy interiors and fabrics to bring a sense of the outdoors in.
Offering laid-back dining in the New Forest where classic-meets-contemporary, menus are bursting with best-loved British dishes made from the finest locally-sourced produce – to be enjoyed in the restaurant, on the enormous stone terrace in the sunshine, in the glass splendour of our orangery or in one of our sittings rooms by the fire.
The tick of a clock, the creak of a leather armchair, the scent of wood fires in winter and freshly mowed lawns in the summer, at Bartley Lodge, there’s endless cosy nooks and corners with squashy sofas and armchairs, or outdoor seating where you can relax with a drink or a coffee or catch up on a good book when staying at our country house hotel in Hampshire.
A best of British-inspired menu, bursting with our best-loved seasonal dishes are cooked in our country house kitchen. We’re not fussy where our food is enjoyed –over a candle-lit supper in our very proper dining room, outside in the sunshine on our beautiful stone terrace, in the glass splendour of our orangery with views over our gardens or in our cosy, historic drawing room by the fire – ideal if you’ve brought your four-legged friend.
Showcasing a variety of ingredients found right on our doorstep; from the delicious, well-aged meats we roast on Sundays, to fresh salads and vegetables that appear in our seasonal sides, to the free-range happy hen eggs we serve you at breakfast, it’s important to us that we know our food’s provenance inside out.
